I was diagnosed with polio when I was 10 years old. I now suffer from Post Polio Syndrome and have been on a ventilator since 1992. I am a widower with two children and two grandchildren. The waiver program allows me to live at home in the community with my family. I have used nursing agencies mostly to cover my nurse staffing needs, however, I have used Independent Provider Nurses for the past 3 years and have found managing my own nurses to be challenging and rewarding. However, I have experienced the frustration of trying to find staff to cover my available hours. For this reason I put together this website, to benefit consumers, their families, and Independent Provider nurses and nursing assistants..

GOAL: Our goal is to help the consumers maintain their independence, in their homes, with their families, in the community by matching nurses and nursing assistants to their needs. We offer a way for nurses to find cases and hours, and consumers to find nurses and assistants by using the Internet. We hope to greatly reduce the time frame this entire process takes. We hope to eliminate much of the frustration a consumer feels when they are trying to find a nurse or nursing assistant. Sometimes it's just a matter of timing for a consumer to find the right nurse or assistant. Providers Please Note: It is imperative that you keep the Visiting Nurses Association (V.N.A.) informed of any changes, such as address, phone numbers and other appropriate information. Note: A nursing assistant must have a written statement from a consumer stating that he/she wishes to have a particular nursing assistant care for them.
